So it starts....

I’m on the final plane ride home. It’s been quite an amazing few days for me, ones I will never forget and will cherish for the rest of my life. Not only was I blessed to be able to accomplish mostly all I set out to do (which was to see both of the movies I’ve been dying to see for so very long), but much, much more that I never had the nerve to assume would happen. Not only did I accomplish these things but I was also able to do them with some of my very best friends while I met new ones, that I hope will be in my life for many, many years to come.

It all started on Thursday January 21st when my shuttle picked me up from my home in London, Ontario and took me to the airport in Detroit, Michigan. It was all smooth sailing and I had a lot of fun explaining to the border guards about why I was going to travel by myself to Salt Lake City (to the Sundance film festival, which they had never even heard of!?) and who I was going to meet when I was down there (three of the most incredible women I have ever met and who leave me in awe everyday – and how until that dat we had never even actually met, only online).

When I got to the airport I had the unpleasant surprise that my flight had been cancelled only minutes before I arrived. I panicked when they told me they had nothing available and had rebooked me for the following day (which was not going to happen because the premiere of the movie I had been dying to see was the afternoon they had rebooked me!). I pleaded my case and they transferred me to a direct flight that took a heck of lot less time then my previous itinerary which involved 1 stop. I jumped at the opportunity and ran as fast as I could with my bags to a separate terminal. Once at the gate I had to let all my girls know what happen and then I could relax.

Although it took me a lot less time to finially arrive in Salt Lake City it also meant that I was totally out of sync with the other girls’ flights so I had to wait for quite a while. I scoped out the airport and people watched trying to see if I knew anyone. I did see this guy, i have no idea what his name is, but he seems to be in almost every comedy movie I’ve ever seen. I’ll have to research him more, see if I can remember what his face looked like.

In the midst of my searching I saw a woman standing just in front of me. I stared at her. I definitely knew who she was. I tried to take out my camera but she saw me and moved away, I assumed that meant “Please Don’t” so I respected her wishes. But as sure as I sit here now Melissa Leo, Oscar nominated actress and also the reason I was there in Salt Lake in the first place (To see the movie she did with the incredibly talented Kristen Stewart “Welcome to the Rileys”). I’d never seen anything else that she’d been in but I seen the clips and I was incredibly excited to be sitting in front of the women who plays one of the main parts in my faveourite movie script of all time.

When I came down from my high, after Ms. Leo had left I was surprised to see my Friend Laura V coming down the escalator. It turns out her flight had been cancelled too and she got in earlier than expected also. Laura and I had met before when she came up for the Toronto International Film Festival (we got tickets to that in the hopes that “Welcome to the Rileys” would end up there, unfortunately it didn’t, but we had a great time anyway!). We chatted and found Danielle (Dani) who neither of us had met yet and we all got aquainted face-to-face while we waited for Laura F to arrive.

Once we were all together we rented our car, checked into our hotel and got situated in our room. We got ready to head out and do a little exploring. We found our way to the Box office and scoped it out as this is where we would be spending a good chunk of time. After we discovered the Box office we made or way to where we would be parking in Park City.

It was starting to get late and dark by this time so we decided to go grab some food at Ihop. This was very exciting for me since I’ve never been there and I’ve heard about it (and read about it in a fanfiction story—not for kids by the way lol). Anyway, being from Canada and not usually travelling to the States I was again shocked at just how much food is given at restaurants, I think I ate maybe half that first night!

We laughed and ate and enjoyed each others company. It was incredible just how comfortable we were with each other. We had been talking online for about a year, but it seemed like we had been friends for more than just that one year. We were all incredibly comfortable with each other and there was absolutely no awkwardness that I had been feeling.

We went back to the hotel and watched the Help for Haiti telethon and tried to calm ourselves down enough to try and get some sleep. It didn’t work. It’s become a joke, but we really did get about 94 minutes of sleep that first day before we headed out to the box office to wait outside in the freezing cold and dark night for the doors to the box office to open. I can not tell you how terrifying it is to go to another country to go see a film and not have any tickets. We did our waiting and were the first ones in line.

Come back for What happened Day 2 of Sundance!

Clock ticks Down

After a short break from Sundance (my other obsession came into play this weekend - The solo Joey Mcintyre <3 show in Toronto where I met one of my very best besties Jessi see pic to the left...that's us with our Mactinis -lemon martinis after we ended up in VIP, had our Joe Hug I'm trying to get back into Kristen/Sundance mode....Joe Hugs, face cuppage, well wishes, thank you and arm squeezes) I'm recharged and ready to go...ok ok no I'm not, I'm still in Joe Show Mode right now and it's almost all I can think about...See picture right...so

This picture that was just released helped...wow...The Runaways is going to be one interesting movie...hope I can behave in the theater!

So, today? My task for today is trying to stay focused and pack...since I'm sitting here writing this I'm sure you can guess how that's going...I really don't like to pack...at all. But mostly everything is laying on the bed and I'm trying to figure out the best way to pack everything efficently...or at least make it al fit in the carryon...might be difficult with the heels...they're just in case - you never know what could happen!

We are really looking forward to meeting our new friends and are really hoping to connect with Giovanni, producer of "Welcome to the Rileys"! We are going to be disappointed if we can't give him his gift! lol...keep your fingers crossed he likes it!

I'm not entirely sure there will be a blog tomorrow...I work all day and then I have to do the normal going away things like nails and grabbing anything last minute and hopefully napping, before the airport shuttle comes and whisks me away to Detroit Metro Tomorrow night at 11:30pm est. The flight to Utah (with a stop in Phoenix, where I will connect with Laura, hopefully) leaves at 7am on Friday...I'll be in Utah at 1pm mountain time! I'm getting more and more excited as time goes on!

Getting Close

So today was pretty much the last on the list of things to do (other thank packing of course!). I got my American money...btw? I. Hate. American. Money. You all should use Canadian money...its pretty, it doesn't stick together and it is much less stinky, yuck!

We are starting to connect with a couple of really awesome people from IMDB that we are super excited to meet, love to be able to put a face to the name! We also can't wait to thank Larry (aka larry411) for all the help and great tips! We can't wait to eat at Java Cow!

As for life outside Sundance, yes I do have one, I will probably not be updating over the next two days as I'm headed to Toronto to meet my other Twitter girls to go see Joey Mcintyre solo. It'll be me and 25-50 girls at Hard Rock tomorrow night for dinner and drinks and then lots more for the Joe Show on Monday night.

So, with that I will leave you with a couple Kristen pics!

Quiet Day

Well there wasn't much happening today! We got a few other details worked out, but right now its mundane things like currancy exchange and stuff...love the new Runaways still though! Looks awesome! But I refuse to read or look at anything until I've seen it...I've read the script thats all I'm worried about for now!

So no news...BUT here's your daily Kristen Picture anyway! From Allure, and here's two because this is my Fave Stew solo shoot...

Epicness had Begun!

So the bad news is we're still ticketless...good news? We got out tickets to see Joan Jett Live at HarryO's the same night we're hoping to see WttR! How awesome is that? I can't tell you how excited I am for that! In honor of this and me being a fan for the last 27 years (yes I was learning to walk and dancing around in my diapers to Joan Jett and The Runaways) Here a live JJ & the Black Hearts videos! One of my Faves Crimson and Clover

So thats pretty much all the news I have for right now! I am really looking forward to meeting some of the people I've met on Twitter at the Concert. And I have to say a huge, monumental THANK YOU to @larry411. He has been a Godsend and has reallyl helped us get to know...a little...about what we're doing. If you aren't folling him on Twitter you should be...he's full of all sorts of good information!

Only 9 more days until the fun begins!

Possible Epicness

Okay so today was pretty decent. I got a nice new pair of boots for the standing out in the freezing cold, and a laptop case so I can keep you all updated on the happening in Park City. I appear to be having difficulty with the whole long underwear situation, that might be a problem! Might buy a snuggie and then steal the comforter to keep warm!

I was able to pick up out little gift for Giovanni, I hope he likes it! It's nothing big but it is from our hearts. I will post pictures...maybe after we've given it to him!

So here is where the epicness begins...

As many have already heard Joan Jett IS indeed sceduled to play at HarryOs in Park City. Yes, we are stalking the their website and have calls into the nightclub as well. I, personally, have always been a JJ fan, so this would just be the complete icing on the cake to see her perform LIVE at Sundance! Plus, you totally know that Kristen will have to be there in the least!

So in Honour of this Epic News....I have Two pictures of the day!
Two Chicks that Kick Ass!

Kristen as Joan
(although she kicks as much ass
as herself...)

And Joan herself

The Countdown Begins

So I am now completely ready for Sundance TwentyTen/2010 (however you want to say it.) The plane tickets are booked, the shuttle tickets are booked, the car is booked and the hotel is booked! The only things I have left to do is shopping (hello, long underwear and tons of warm socks!), get my money exchanged (seriously Canada and the US need to the same currancy already) and of course, the dreaded packing...I hate packing.

We have our plans in motion and we're getting there on Friday so that we can scope out where everything is...and maybe get all of our squeeing done about actually being AT SUNDANCE! then....more squeeing will ensure if we get tickets, if we meet Giovanni and of course, if we catch a glimpse of Kristen!

So after walked 45 minutes in the cold to get my airport shuttle ticket I decided I was going to post everyday from here on out...It might just be my fav Kristen picture or I might have some actual news to report!

Tonight: Going over the packing list for everything I need to buy.
Tomorrow: First of all....Our First Time slot to buy tickets for the films is Tomorrow at 11am...we're still holding out hope that they will realease more tickets for the showings of Welcome to the Riley's and The Runaways! Please keep your fingers crossed or send out good vibes and energy or say a little prayer that all goes the way we're hoping!
Second: Buying everything on the packing list that I need to buy!

The Beginning

I wasn't sure where to start, so I figured I would start at the beginning...so, here is the beginning of my story (I'll try to make it brief).

I don't know how old I was but I remember sitting in front of the TV watching Entertainment Tonight as the reporters stood out in the freezing cold speaking about rarely heard of, yet obviously brilliant films and big actors. I remember listening to Robert Redford speaking and it seemed to me that everyone was hanging on his every word. That's when I turned around and told my mom that one day I would be there.

Its been years and I can honestly say, for all the times I swore I would get there I never, ever thought that I would be going. It's far, it's expensive, no one to go with and my major complaint? It's too FREAKIN' COLD! I live in Canada, if I go away in the winter it's gonna be somewhere WARM!!

Well the Sundance talk began again when Kristen Stewart's new film "Welcome to the Riley's" (which was supposed to premiere at the Toronto International Film Festival, but didn't) was speculated to premiere at Sundance. We joked and teased that we were going to go, but I was never very serious for all the aforementioned reasons.

But as talk and rumour became more substantiated, we knew we had to Go...especially when we found out that "The Runaways was going to be there as well! There simply was no choice, it was a must.

We signed up on the Sundance website but opted out of the packages in favour of Individual tickets, we know now that it was a mistake.

We got our time slot to buy our tickets January 12, 2010 11am (each of us four all got different ones and we picked the best time). We also realize that unless we had gotten Day one of the sale as package holders we would not have been able to get tickets again...

So Here's Where we sit 2 weeks before the festival...
Laura V Has her Plane ticket and the hotel booked
Laura A has her plane ticket and the car rental booked
Dani just got back from visiting family so she's slacking and doesn't have anything booked YET!
And I have my plane ticket booked.

Things are starting to come together and with every passing day I get more and more excited!

A little backstory on how the four of us met...We were all IMDB girls. We are all met on Kristen's message boards and somehow someone started a Chatzy chat and invited a certain few. I was lucky enough to be one of those lucky few. We all grew very close and I still talk to most of them every single day. They are some of my greatest friends and I count myself lucky to know them. I am sad that not all of the girls, or Kbitches as we have been dubbed, will be able to attend, but I PROMISE to keep them all updated as much as humanly possible!

So...On Friday January 22 the four of us meet (although I've met Laura V before, we went to TIFF and met Xavier Samuel together! Sigh, so cute, so hot, so incredibly nice and sweet and humble - he thanked US for asking for a picture with him! How awesome is that!?)

We set out with no tickets, only hopes and dreams and sending out good vibes and thoughts and prayers that we will get to see "Welcome to the Riley's". We will get to see "The Runaways". We will get to meet Giovanni. And maybe the ultimate goal? We will get to see Kristen Stewart, even for a split second. That's the idea, and we're going to do whatever we have to do to make as many of these things come true.

Thanks for reading and please do message me with any questions, comments or suggestions. I'll do my best to answer any and all to the best of my ability!
